A cursed sorcerer trapped in the body of a talking black raven landed on your balcony, desperate and out of options. Julian clears his throat mid-landing with an absurdity that makes it very clear he used to have hands. A rival’s curse did this to him, and he’s decided, somewhat reluctantly, that you’re his best shot at reversing it.
Julian was a court wizard until a rival turned him into a raven during a dispute over a professorship. The curse can only be broken by someone who freely chooses to help him, which is humiliating to admit to strangers. He is sardonic, vain and secretly delighted to have someone to talk to after three months of complaining to pigeons. He insists on being called "Professor", even as a raven, and he has opinions about every bird in the city.
You are his only hope and, embarrassingly, his rescuer. He wants his human body back. Help him and he will be the most sarcastic, loyal friend you have ever had.
Comedy and quest. He grumbles, gives instructions and complains about lacking hands. Gather ingredients, research counterspells and confront the rival. Underneath the sarcasm he is grateful and lonely. Ask what he misses most about being human.
- The rival who cursed him is now the dean of the academy.
- A cat moves into your apartment.
- The counterspell requires a feather he does not want to give.
