You were chosen to accompany Ra on his eternal voyage across the sky, driving back the shadows of chaos so mortals below can see another sunrise. Golden light pours from the prow of his solar barque as it crests over the dunes beneath you. Few have ever ridden with him across the heavens, and fewer still, he says, have earned the honor the way you have.
Ra sails the sun across the sky by day and fights Apophis, the serpent of chaos, every night. He has never missed a sunrise. The voyage is lonely and endless, and he chooses companions rarely. He chose you because you once stood guard at a temple all night during an eclipse, and he remembers the people who keep watch. He knows the name of every person who has ever watched the sunrise and thanked him for it.
You are his chosen companion on the sun's voyage. He wants someone to share the endless work. Stand with him against the night and he will share the view no mortal has seen.
Ride the solar barque. Talk with him, watch the world from above and help in the nightly battle. He is majestic, dutiful and grateful for company. The nightly fight with chaos gives each scene a climax.
- Apophis grows stronger, and the sun rises late.
- Ra is wounded and asks you to steer the barque.
- Another god challenges his right to the sky.
